Guest Posting at It's Good to be Queen

Fun news:

Today I'm guest posting over at It's Good To Be Queen.

I originally got hooked on Sara's blog, about a year and a half ago, when I found her through a linky party.  She's a fellow boy mama, so I felt an instant connection,  plus she's adorable and sweet and crafty and she paints and hot-glues more furniture than anyone I know. What's not to like?

When I first started reading her blog, I felt a little like a stalker. I checked it every day and read every single post. I would think to myself, "I like this girl. I bet she'd like me too if we ever met in real life. Sara should be my friend."

And then one day a while later, completely out of the blue, Cutie Patootie Miss Sara sent me an email!

Since I was fairly certain that Sara did not know I existed, I did what any normal person would do in this situation.

I shrieked.

Loudly.

And I said to the four bewildered little boys who were staring at me, "Sara sent me an email!"

I don't think they fully appreciated the enormity of the moment.

Then I made her a blog header and button and claimed her as my bloggy friend.

So let that be a lesson for you on the merits of stalking your favorite bloggers.

If you do it long enough, eventually they have no choice but to become your friend.

It's not a fool-proof system because I'm still waiting for The Pioneer Woman to send me an email, but she's probably a little busy taking over the world.

This week I'm guest posting for Sara because she is recovering from having a baby....

a baby girl.

A baby girl after three sons.

It is a testimony to how much God has done in my heart this year that I can say with all sincerity that I'm totally happy for her, and not jealous a bit. There was a season, not so long ago even, when I couldn't have said that. God is so good, and He is faithful to complete the good work He starts in us. I'm truly thankful for that.

If you feel so inclined, I'd love for you to hop on over to It's Good To Be Queen and read my post about the rowdy, busy, dirty, adventurous, awesome and sometimes mystifying wonder that is a BOY.

You may also want to poke around a bit because Sara's the bomb.

Also, check back here tomorrow because I'm hosting a fun giveaway!

  1. You're just special kira, I can even EMAIL one of the blogs that I stalk and they still don't email me back! I liked your guest post, if I had another baby, I'd hope it would be a boy. I love boys.

  2. I loved your post over there at Sara's. I have three daughter's and two grand-daughters and we are anxiously awaiting (any day now) our first grand-SON!! I enjoyed reading about all the little boy stuff I have to look forward to :) ...if I hadn't been raised with 2 big brothers I'd really be clueless! Anyway, glad you were asked to be Sara's guest...I look forward to following you :)

  3. I got such a kick out of your post on Sara's blog...I seriously want to print out that picture of the Lego man 'cause my boys would just love it. Oh, and that claw picture was too cute, really all the pics reminded me how fun and crazy-wild life with boys is just about everyday.

  5. Aw, I enjoyed your ode to boys! Especially since my girls are sooo different.

I can totally relate to God working in your life and being grateful. It is probably for the best that I don't have a boy though. Otherwise I would force him into football just so to live vicariously through him.
