A perk of knowing a decorating blogger

So, funny story.

Well, it's not really funny ha-ha, but more like irony funny.

I have a friend who used to use the internet to read my blog and send emails, but was completely off the grid otherwise.

She shunned technology and refused to join Facebook.

Then one day, she came over and put mud on my wall and won a big fancy schmancy contest for doing it.

And the people who were hosting the contest wanted to know if she had a website or a blog or anything.

And she had to tell them 'no' because she was scared of technology.

So that was the thing that finally pushed her into starting a blog

Six months later, she had 500 followers. I kid you not.

Because even though she shuns technology and social media, they love her.

She should be nicer to technology.

And she should join Facebook.  I'm still working on that one.

I am getting off track here, though.

My point in all this is that having a friend who has a decorating blog has it's perks!

Because when she comes over to my house now, I show her all the projects that I'm stumped on, and then I say "You should take this home with you and do something with it, and then you can blog about it."

See what a good friend I am? Nobody just throws blog material at me. I have to come up with mine all on my own.

Recently I sent her home with a picture I bought at Bed Bath & Beyond years ago, which had been banished to my garage for being 'blah.'

I was kind of joking and didn't even think she took it with her when she left, but TWO HOURS later she texted me a picture of it all made over.

Yes, I shouted that...  it only took her TWO HOURS from the time she left my house.

When Selina has a project to finish, she is the postergirl for "git 'er done."

She can't sleep until it's finished.

What an incredible quirk that is. I wish I had it too. If I did, I would have a refinished lego table, painted shutters, a photo collage wall........

If you want to see how my picture turned out, pop on over to Creative Juices Decor where she'll show you the before & afters and tell you how she did it. She's a rockstar, don't miss it!

  1. I am so glad you liked the frame. Now the coin has 2 sides my friend. You are the technology wizard that made my blog even possible. Without your help there would be no cute CDJ button or header - I'd just have some blah page that people would think "what's wrong with this girl, can she not figure anything out?" No, I can't figure anything out in this dumb technology filled world. And that's why I you, along with the fact you’re just plain fun!
