Now, with that off my chest, here's a glimpse of our house when we put the tree up. I'm keeping this simple today because I'm supposed to be getting ready to go to my Moms Equipped ornament exchange. I can't seem to walk past my computer without getting caught in the tractor pull.
This year I was pleased to see that the boys are finally old enough to pretty much handle the decorating on their own.
They did a really good job. And while they were doing that, Rowan was absorbed in our yearly tradition of watching "The Polar Express" while we decorate the house. Last year he was just a little two-year-old racing around the room hiding ornaments, too busy to pay attention to a movie. This year his eyes did not leave the screen the whole time and later when we put him to bed, I heard him whispering under his breath "Hot chocolate, ooooooooooh we got it!"
My job was to figure out where the rest of our stuff would go. I have just enough knick-knacks to decorate the living room with a little run-off in the kitchen. I like that.
Somebody re-arranged the letters on my entertainment center, probably to get to that basket, and now it says "Ape CE"
This is the first year I've actually hung the stockings on the mantle. It's taken me seven years to decide it's okay to use nails.
And here's the finished tree right after the boys were done.
Brecken was in bed, so this is the "before Brecken" shot. Currently there are no ornaments on the bottom three feet of the tree. At first I was annoyed, and then I realized this is probably the last year it will be an issue. I have the rest of my life to have beautiful trees, but only this one with a toddler who is so fascinated he can't keep his hands to himself.
That is all. I'm late for my meeting.
