Cozi Month in Review

I gave Cozi 30 days. I said I would try it and see if I actually used it. I have been pleasantly surprised to find that I use it every day. Yesterday I got my first "month in review" Cozi email that had all my journal entries from July. It was fun to read through and see things that I had already forgotten about. Seriously people, it's simple to use, very streamlined, and free. What's not to love? This journal feature is a great way to keep track of little comments your kids make, thoughts you have throughout the day for your blog, sharing photo snapshots from your phone, jotting down dinner ideas, or sharing a snippet of life with extended family. If you have an internet capable phone you can access Cozi on the go, but if you just want to use it on your desktop it's great for that too. You can choose to have the journal sent at the beginning of the month to specific email addresses (Grandma loves this stuff) or you can publish to a private or public blog that Cozi provides. It's a great service for those who are interested in blogging but don't want to invest the time in extended posts.

July Stories

Cozi. Family Life. Simplified

Greyson moment: he just ran in and said "mom! I don't know how to bow to God. how do I show him I love him?" and I said "you remember how people raise their arms during worship at church? It's kind of like bowing... Like you give Jesus a hug in the air and say 'I love you God!'" he thought that was pretty great and immediately tried it out and ran to the other room where I heard him say "Haydn! I learned how to bow to god and tell him I love him!"

How great is THIS!? I spent some time entering a few of my books into iBookshelf and just found out I can browse them in coverflow mode. It makes me grin like a dummy when I watch those beautiful book covers fly by in color.

My friend Katieann came over with her girls today. Rowan put on his spiderman suit to impress Rylee, and then he convinced her to loan him her "sunnies" by trading his swim goggles.

Moms amazing 4th meal. Smoked chicken with homemade BBQ sauce. Soooo good.

Everyone stayed in bed till 9 this morning, Daddy is out buying donuts, and the house is quiet. It's going to be a good day.
Monday, July 5th

J & I are taking "the bigs" to see Airbender. Grey fell asleep with his head on my lap. When the movie was over he pops up and says "wow I'm not even tired anymore. I had a good nap." ummm an expensive nap!

H&G got to spend the night with the grandparents and go fishing super early on Grandpa's boat. They had the best day. It was Greyson's first fish ever.

J and I did the Cda garden tour today, since Aspen was an "exceptional sponsor" or something like that. We didn't see anything that wowed the pants off us, but it was nice to go out to breakfast without kids and spend the morning together. If anything it made us want to go home and mow the lawn and clean up the yard and admire the beautiful space that we call home.

Haydn and Grey started swimming lessons today at the Kroc. I was amazed at how well Haydn did. I didn't think he could swim at all and he was making it across the whole pool and working on his strokes. How did I not know he could do that!?

Tonight for dinner we had maple-bacon pancakes and eggs. Yummo.
Monday, July 12th

Haydn says "Mom, you know the really cool people say 'Whateva For-EVA'" only he says it with a gangster twang, a bob of the head, and hands held up in made up signs.

The funniest part is that this is something that I made up and say to Jarrod just to annoy him. HA!
Tuesday, July 13th

Today: Swimming lessons continued (Haydn learned to dive and tread water in the DEEP end!), grocery shopping, cooked a butternut squash for B, made yummy pasta with mushrooms, zuchinni, and tons of garlic and parmesan cheese, took Haydn and Jill to the library, took Jill home, then went to Costco with Haydn. Now I'm home, going to do the dishes, eat some leftover cobbler and maybe, just maybe, get in bed at a decent hour... or maybe I'll blog. Wouldn't that be something.

Today we saw Chris and Christine get married. Haydn was asking me a question about our wedding, and I told him (somewhat hopefully) that I had a video of it if he wanted to see it. He wrinkled his nose and shook his head and said "Naaaaah" and Greyson pipes in with "Yeah, I already know how that one ends."
Saturday, July 17th

It's Rowan's birthday and I asked him what he wanted for his birthday dinner.

"Polar bears!" he says.

"Polar bears?" I ask, and Greyson clarifies for me.

"Oh, he means Panda Express!"

I just made the mistake of trying to take grey in the ladies room. He saw some girls in there and abruptly did a 180 and announced "is this the boys!?! I'm going out." Guess he's a big boy now. I really embarrassed him.
Monday, July 19th

While we were driving I realized that I had misplaced my drivers license. Haydn panics and says "pull over mom, what if a cop sees you! It's against the ten commandments to drive without a drivers license!"
Tuesday, July 20th

Holy crap the juicebox lady commented on my blog!?
Tuesday, July 20th

Just unloaded all four boys from the van at walgreens when my car alarm started LOUDLY blaring. It took me 30 flustered embarrassing seconds to figure out brecken had my keys.
Wednesday, July 21st

Just glanced outside and saw Rowan naked as a jaybird taking a leak in the kiddie pool.
Friday, July 23rd

We loaded up the boys in the car and then I ran back in to get something. When I came back grey says "Breckie was crying but I speak baby, and he said 'is anybody there?'"

  3. Hi Robbie,
I do have the iPhone and I was just thinking today that the Cozi app might be my very favorite one on my phone. With the recent addition of To-Do lists it ROCKS MY WORLD!!! I've been using Cozi for a month now and I don't know how I ever got along without it. This is the only calendar I use now.

The only thing I've tried and havn't been able to do on the calendar is to enter an event that is WAY in the future (like a year). It didn't seem to want to let me do that.

Otherwise I have no complaints, Cozi is amazing. Thanks for stopping by!
