Practice makes perfect, or so the saying goes, so I've been following my kids around with a camera as often as I can. I'm realizing that as much as I'd like for every photo I take to be jaw dropping, it's more like one out of every 75, so I've been taking a LOT of pictures. Trying to remember aperature, ISO, shutter speed, focus, and all that jazz. While some of it the camera does for me, I'm learning that really good photographers actually think about that stuff and know what it means and it shows in their pictures. I've been learning a lot in my class, but I'm behind in my reading for it and in my assignments, so I'm relieved this is a "free week" where we can play catch up and not learn any new material.

Played with Rowan outside this week and got to take his picture while he toddled around. The focus is still off on some of these, but I've been playing with depth of field to see how it changes the photo, and it's going to take time before I can get the focus right too. Patience, people!
