Got the cooler, the beach blanket, the towels, the fishing poles, the sunblock, the camera, diapers and other misc baby paraphernalia, the fireworks, and three children all loaded up and then buckled our seatbelts and turned the key.... nothin'. One battery deader than a doornail.
So while my sweet Jarrod is trying to find a parts store that is open today so he can get a new battery, I am surfin' the internet and consoling children that are worried they are "missing all the fun." I'm sure it will all work out and we'll make it to the lake eventually, but in the mean time, I think I'll dig into this fruit salad I had planned to take to the cabin.
Hope your day is filled with fireworks, love, and appreciation for the men and women who have served our country, past and present.
